Donalson Ranch
Zavala CountyDESCRIPTION
The Donalson Ranch is a 2405 acre recreational and hunting ranch for sale 15 miles west of Crystal City in Zavala County, Texas. Less than two hours from San Antonio, this beautiful turn-key hunting ranch is just waiting for memories to be made. In addition to superior hunting, this ranch has an abundance of character, with its gently rolling terrain, plentiful wet-weather creeks, arrowhead hunting opportunities and gorgeous views.
The ranch is completely high fenced and separated into two pastures of 1,800 acres and 605 acres, consisting of about 90% brush and 10% pasture. There are deer pens located in both pastures. Good interior ranch roads suitable for truck or ATV.
The ranch has been game managed for over 20 years. Whitetail deer, turkey, quail, hogs and quail are abundant on this hunters paradise. Nine bucks with highly improved genetics were released into the 605 acre pasture in 2017, along with 20 bred does and two bucks scoring over 200 BC. The ranch is currently operated under a MLDP Conservation Option. There are multiple blinds scattered throughout the ranch including 11 executive blinds. In addition to corn feeders near each blind, the ranch has 12 supplemental feed stations each with pens to keep out the feral hogs.
Several miles of wet weather creeks traverse the ranch. The Picosa runs from west to east across the larger pasture and the Chacon and Palo Blanco run north to south on the 605 acre pasture. Four ponds have been placed to capture runoff with all having water piped and capable of running water from the wells. There are three water wells, one at the house with a large concrete storage tank, and the other on the north fence line of the larger pasture also with a storage tank. A new solar well was drilled in the summer of 2019 in the 600 acre tract. It produces about 10 gpm filling a water trough with the additional pumped water running into the pond. There are over six miles of water lines running off the north well feeding the ponds and multiple strategically placed troughs.
Placed high on the ranch is a beautiful 2,300 square foot, two story metal roofed rock home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The home has a comfortable open concept living, kitchen and dining area. There is a new outdoor kitchen and entertaining area with a rock fireplace and big screen TV. The views are spectacular from the back porch as well as the adjacent open wood deck area and rock fire pit. There is a 1,200 square foot metal structure, closed on three sides, for equipment and vehicles, two 20-foot containers for feed and ATVs, and a small storage building for tools. A game cleaning facility is conveniently located by the house and barn complete with water and electricity. It is equipped with a walk-in cooler, several hoists, large sink and a freezer.
An opportunity awaits for the avid outdoors person whether it be their family recreational hunting ranch or their business venture.
This property is co-listed with Foster Farm and Ranch, LLC and Mark Hubbard Ranch Properties.
Priced at $2,650.00 per acre or $6,373,250.00 total.
