The Texas Farm Patch is a highly productive produce farm located in northern Atascosa County, just minutes south of San Antonio. It is one of the state’s largest organic fruit and vegetable greenhouse farming operations. The turn-key production facilities and three established distribution chains to statewide grocers make this an extremely rare, income-producing property.
IMPROVEMENTS: 14,500± square foot packing facility with cold storage, office space and 3 loading docks. 13,000± square foot fully enclosed storage facility, (2) 1,400± sqft worker living quarters constructed in 2016, Farm manager’s house, approximately 1,000sqft with 480sqft garage, (2) Fully enclosed equipment barns, metal pole barn. WATER / IRRIGATION: There are 2 Carrizo irrigation wells, one of which can produce upwards of 1,000 GPM. The Carrizo water is pumped into 2 large water impoundments, and then piped throughout the farm via a sophisticated system of underground pipes and pump stations. Elaborate underground and above ground irrigation systems. 1 Zimmatic Pivot covering 150± acres and a secondary older pivot covers y 300± linear feet. Some repair is required on this older pivot.
CURRENT CROPLAND / ORCHARDS / GREENHOUSE AREA: 250± acres irrigated pivot land 40± acres of stabled, 35± acres of irrigated peach orchards with 4 primary tree varieties producing peaches between late April and June annually, 5± Certified Organic acres in a state-of-the-art retractable roof CRAVO Greenhouse (temperature controlled with propane heaters and is currently used to produce Texas Organic Strawberries December through the end of May annually), 5± acres Certified Organic acres in 48 covered “hoop houses”, (hoop houses are also being used to produce Strawberries December through the end of May annually).
